All equipment is in place, after any strong winds

All equipment that is more than 600 mm in height used for climbing is situated on soft fall area

All equipment/trees are free from hanging ropes, cords and string

All fences are free from objects that could enable children to climb over (incl branches)

All heavy objects are below shoulder height

All trees/branches are free from damage after strong winds

Children are unable to access cleaning agents, poisons and other hazardous materials

Drains are clear and free of debris

Everything in storage sheds are secured and cannot fall onto a child?

Fences and gates - all the catches are working

Fences and gates - the gates close

Hoses are placed or covered so not a tripping hazard

Inside boxes and buildings are free from spiders and/or wasp nests etc

Nailing Activities - All nails have been removed from the ground

Nailing Activities - All protruding nails been removed

Paths are swept to remove sand and debris

Safety mats are in good condition with no stitching coming undone

Sandpit curtains are in good condition (if applicable)

Sandpit equipment is in good condition

Swings and shade sails - all fittings and ropes are in good repair

The bark is at required minimum (300mm) depth in all the high use areas (use measuring stick if in doubt)

The building and equipment are free from chipped paint, sharp corners or splinters, protruding bolts and screws

The entire playground and sandpit are free from hazards created by visitors/vandalism to the playground since the last session (eg glass, damaged equipment, animal and/or human faeces)

The gardens and lawns are tidy

The grounds free of poisonous plants and fungi (eg, black nightshade, toadstools etc)

The sandpit is clean and free of debris (leaves, twigs, faeces)

The soft fall area free of stones, sharp objects, and debris

The surroundings area by the sandpit is free from excessive spillage of sand

There are no bodies of water that could be dangerous for children

There are no slippery surfaces from rain or ice

There are stoppers on the ends of pipe equipment (finger entrapment)

There is a minimum distance of 1.5 metres between pieces of equipment (that children can climb on) and between equipment and the edge of the soft fall

Is the swing clear of all play equipment and other objects and meeting minimum distance regulations?

Veranda - curtains are in good condition (if applicable)

Veranda - the area is free from any tripping or slipping hazards (eg sand, mats, carpets)

Safe and hygienic handling practices are implemented with regard to any animals at the service. All animals are able to be restrained.
